Why I'm Running
I’m running because I’ve dedicated my life to public service in Johnson County. Serving as a Deputy Sheriff has allowed me to serve my community not only as a career path but as a way to improve the connection between law enforcement and the rest of the community. But I’ve also found other ways to serve outside of the work place because I feel it’s a duty we all share, to do a little more in our everyday lives to make things better. Through service on a city council and other boards and commissions I’ve brought not only my law enforcement perspective but my personal experiences to the table. And it’s through experience and perspective we can create good public policy and build better relationships.
I’m running because law enforcement has a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on peoples’ lives everyday through professionalism, transparency, and relationships with the community. As Sheriff I will promote a Sheriff’s Office culture of service to the community and cooperation with other stakeholders to help solve problems while enforcing the law. Through a service oriented mindset while cooperating with our community partners we can have a unified approach to keeping people safe, empowering victims, and having trusting relationships.
This campaign, this race, this office, isn’t about me. It’s about the public’s duty to elect the right person who has the experience, the skills, and the community relations to be an effective and trusted leader. It’s about having a Sheriff who is focused on what is best for the public and for the people who put their lives on the line everyday to keep us safe.
Johnson County is my home and I’m excited about the opportunity to build on the successes we’ve accomplished at the Sheriff’s Office and keep moving forward with the community. I’m proud of the great work and commitment from everyone at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and I look forward to serving as your next Sheriff.
